The Alpine Ski Shop Ski & Snowboard Swap has been a Northern Virginia tradition since 1976. Whether you're looking to sell equipment you no longer use or score incredible deals on quality used gear, our annual Swap is the perfect place to kick off the winter season.

  • Sterling location only
  • No items will be accepted after Thursday, October 15
  • No items accepted during Swap weekend

Items We Accept

We accept quality used equipment related to the sports we carry at Alpine Ski Shop.

We reserve the right to refuse or remove any item from the Swap.

We Do Not Accept

  • Broken or damaged equipment
  • Straight skis or skis with obsolete binding systems
  • Step-in or click-in snowboard bindings or boots
  • Helmets
  • Goggles

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens when my item sells?

Sold items are recorded under your account during check-in. The full selling price will be issued as Alpine Ski Shop Store Credit, available beginning Monday, October 19, 2026.

When can I drop off my items?

Items may be dropped off October 5–15, 2026 at our Sterling location only.

No items will be accepted during Swap weekend.

What are the Swap hours?

Saturday, October 17: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Sunday, October 18: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Please check back Sunday afternoon before 4:00 PM to see if your item has sold, or visit alpineskiswap.com for updated sales information throughout the event.

What kinds of items can I sell?

We ask that items be limited to the sports we carry at Alpine Ski Shop. We also accept limited quantities of:

  • Longboards
  • Inline skates
  • Car rack accessories used for carrying outdoor equipment

How many items can I sell?

Please limit your consignment to 15 items per person.

What is my item worth?

A good starting point is 25–30% of the original retail price, depending on condition, age, maintenance, and demand.

Our staff will work with you during check-in to establish a fair price that gives your item the best chance to sell while maximizing your return.

What if my item doesn't sell?

Unsold items must be picked up by Tuesday, October 20, 2026.

Items not picked up by the close of business on October 20 will be donated to the Timberline Ski Patrol.

What happens if I don't pick up my item?

Any item not picked up by Tuesday, October 20, 2026 becomes the property of Alpine Ski Shop and will be donated to the Timberline Ski Patrol.

Do I need to be present during the Swap?

No. Once your equipment is checked in and tagged, our experienced sales staff will assist customers and help match buyers with the right equipment.

When can I use my Store Credit?

Store Credit from sold items will be available beginning Monday, October 19, 2026 and can be used on anything in the store.
